Juxtaposition Arts x BANDITS Bandana

$20.00
100% OF PROCEEDS donated to Juxtaposition Arts (JXTA) - the only Black-led art and design organization in North Minneapolis. JXTA empowers young people in their community by preparing them for careers in art and design, and helping them to create pathways to self-sufficiency. The Artist: Odis Turner III (Minneapolis, MN) Odis Turner III is 21 years old and currently enrolled at Minneapolis Community and Technical College as a part-time student. He is in his fourth year as an apprentice at Juxtaposition Arts in the Textiles & Screen Printing Lab. This bandana is a variation on the first-ever JXTA flag, which Odis designed and which flies on the Northeast corner of the skate-able art plaza on JXTA's campus. Created by Odis, it was proudly raised above the campus shortly after the police killing of George Floyd. In Odis' words the flag came to represent "the community standing together in solidarity, strength, historic resilience, and resistance to oppressive systems.”
